Depressive Disorder - Ultima Ratio (2005)

DEPRESSIVE DISORDER группа работающая в стиле EBM/Electro, обладающая своим узнаваемым звуком. "Ultima Ratio" - один из альбомов, где нет проходящих вещей. Клубные хиты "Serial Killer", "Genocide". Прекрасный голос переходящий от шепота к агрессивным крикам, не оставит равнодушным. Альбом радует своим разнообразием, каждая песня особенная. Без сомнения выполнено превосходно.

This is an interesting discovery from the Czech Republic named Depressive Disorder. The duo composes dark electro stuff, which isn’t really innovative although a few good ideas are running through their work. The first half of the album sounds rather stereotypical with dark, atmospheric EBM tracks. The vocals are quite spooky and definitely not saturated with distortion. The ”Under watch”-song is the 1st cut that really emerges from the tracklist (containing 13 songs) for the link with The Klinik. There’s a similar icy mood and bass line running through this cool cut. The best songs are definitely ”Genocide” and ”Victim”, which sounds like more recent compositions. Both pieces are more elaborated and filled with polished cold bleeps. The ”Victim”-song sounds like Evils Toy merged with some FLA-influences. I’m not pretending that this is a new dark body sensation, but DD for sure has much more potential than several bands, which already gained a certain name and reputation!
